When you say "Oh God What is she running from?" I think of a song called "Chased through the woods by a rapist" by Waking the Cadaver. I'm sure you'd hate it.

Anyway, (sorry about that), Your idea is great and your art is always amazing so I don't have any major advice for you. I'd like to see one of the kids rise up with a War Elephant as one of your creatures they image. (No not like Lord of the Rings, like Western Asia, think Dynasty Warriors in the Nanman campaign). And before that, one could imagine metal arms, thats always a thing I wish I could have... (it's not fair). Then the other could imagine a complete robot with similar metal arms and body, as a one up on the first.
But yeah, the animation looks great so far, I didn't agree with the "hovering" people were talking about, I think it looks 'stylistic' and like a child would run. It's animation so I don't think it matters if it looks 100% real, but your run cycle looks real enough, know what I'm sayin G? Word.

When you first proposed your idea, I was pretty interested in seeing what kind of style you were going to have in executing it, and I am impressed at just how much you have captured the essence of imagination in your drawings.
Your character is perfect for the story, the very simple shape of her and the minimal details help to push the idea of an imaginative environment.
I looked closely at your line work on the backgrounds when you presented them in class and I commend you, because it is hard to get that minimalist style to look just right when using so much whitespace, but your composition is dead on... so, great work so far and I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this.

I really like the idea of having their imaginations turning normal objects into whatever they want, it's a great idea. I think that you've got quite a bit to do though and hearing all of the things you said you wanted to do doesn't really seem like it's going to get finished on time. I think that the background should be plain and the characters colored. It seems like they are the focus and it's their imaginations, their creativity that allows them to make things 'come alive', the background is just there so that we know it's an outdoor scene. Maybe when they grab an object (tree twig) then that object becomes colorful. It'd reduce the amount of coloring you have to do and gives you a bit more time, unless you can't change the background. Also, I think that it'd be more efficient to have the dinosaur fight scene shot as a close up (dino's neck up). It would also decrease the amount of animation you have to do and it'd emphasize the creativity that the kids have (they're riding the dino's right?). Try to make a lot of cuts too...I really want to see this animation completed and think that if you can make it shorter then go for it. It might be cool to have the kids start out holding the ball and have little things come out of the ball...like a fairy,or fireworks, that way your audience automatically realizes that it's the kids' imaginations making these these come alive. Keep working on it and best of luck!
